Both salt and light are basic things,
That we can’t live without.
Our very life depends on them,
And for them we would shout.
But if the salt is spoiled, somehow,
We throw it right away.
For if it cannot do its job,
It just gets in the way.
And light is something we can’t hide
But place where all can see.
So it will benefit the most,
And make the darkness flee.
We, too, must benefit the world,
Like salt and light can do.
And show to others Jesus love,
And bring them to Him, too.
Then let your light so shine to men,
And good works they behold.
That bring great glory unto God,
Because you’re in His fold.
