Walter S. Greenwood, Jr. was born June 9, 1935 in Newark, NJ. He lived through his childhood in Bloomfield, NJ graduating from Bloomfield High School in 1953. He attended Newark College of Engineering (now NJ Institute of Technology) and graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1957.He was commissioned as a 2Lt in the USAF and ultimately chose the Air Force for a career. While on active duty he attended the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) and graduated in 1964 with a MS in Astronautics. He remained in the Air Force for 20 years and retired as an Lt Colonel in 1978. He spent an additional 22 years working for several companies before retiring to live in Newbury, NH in 2000.
Walter was married to his wife, Barbara in 1957 and they have three children, Nancy, John, and David. John is married to Brenda, and David is married to Pamela who have given us two grandchildren, Kyle and Lauren.
Over the years Walter has written poems for many occasions including other holidays, such as Mothers Day, Fathers Day and Valentines Day, for parties, and for individuals.
